This is a sales position helping employers find healthcare benefit solutions and improving employee retention by creating or enhancing their employee benefits packages.

You will never look at Employee Benefits the same again. At JA Benefits we uncover clients’ complex business issues and growth goals, then create strategies to help them accomplish those objectives.

As a Benefits Advisor, you will help employers develop health care benefit solutions, and improve employee retention by creating or enhancing their employee benefits packages.​ The position incorporates selling individual and group life, health, dental, vision retirement plans, and ancillary products of insurance.​

  • Engage and build relationships with Owners, C-Suite, and HR Professionals as their advocate to deliver solutions for their biggest challenges and support their overall organizations' objectives
  • Develop benefit programs by working with multiple carriers across the country to bring your clients the right solution for their unique vision and goals
  • Leverage innovative strategies and expertise, combined with best-in-class tools, resources, and partnerships, to develop clearly defined solutions and ROR®(Return on Relationship)
  • Give presentations as a subject-matter expert at conferences in keynotes or breakout sessions to build credibility and clientele
  • Serve in every client relationship, as a diligent, active listener that ensures the client's vision, goals, pains, and needs are accounted for in the strategic JA approach
  • Develop a personal brand that represents your passion, JA’s values, and is a magnet for clients and prospects
  • Stay current on industry standards, trends, and products
  • Travel in and out of state – expected to be less than 15 overnights per year (travel is currently down due to COVID)
  • Experience prospecting, networking and/​or new business development
  • A self-starter with initiative with strong customer/​client orientation; ability to facilitate discussions to resolve issues, obtain consensus and drive to conclusion
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field and/or equivalent experience in the insurance industry
  • Current State of Indiana Accident & Health, Life license required (must be obtained; company will cover)
  • Ability to earn client trust along with excellent relationship management skills
  • Motivated and goal-oriented with the hunger to become a Partner/Shareholder
  • Coachable and competitive spirit
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Passion for making a difference in the community
  • Proficient knowledge of benefit design and set-up, administration, and regulations related to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA helpful, yet trainable
  • Current or future professional designation preferred; appropriate designations include Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), Retirement Plans Associate (RPA), or Tax Exempt & Governmental Plan Consultant (TGPC)
